Graduate Counseling interns serve in a professional counseling capacity to deliver behavioral health services based on individualized plans for mental wellness and counseling tailored to the needs of children, youth, adults, and/or families. Interns may also conduct therapeutic or psychoeducational group sessions.

Graduate Social Work interns provide mental health and related support services, often working with partner agencies and programs including schools, specialty courts, and others to ensure that children, youth, adults, and families receive the needed services and community resources to build resiliency and improve their quality of life.

Best Buy Teen Tech Center Mentors encourage students to explore technology-centered passions such as digital art, robotics, photography, graphic design, 3-D printing, and music recording. The Best Buy Teen Tech Center is located at the Neighborhood Place, Family Service's westside community center, and is an innovative, safe environment open to students 12 to 18 years old. We ask that Teen Tech Mentors make a 3-6 month commitment.

Assist Family Service's Behavioral Health department with case management by providing clients resources, conducting groups on campuses, and assisting with administrative work to ensure we provide mental wellness and counseling tailored to the needs of children, youth, adults, and/or families.

Family Strengthening volunteer/interns assist with empowering families to have the knowledge, skills, and social support necessary to strengthen family functioning, improve the overall health of their families, and increase capacity to advocate on their children's behalf within school settings.

KidShare Supervised Visitation and Safe Exchange volunteer/interns assist with all aspects of supervised visitation, safe exchanges, and parental interaction in order to provide a safe, secure and supportive environment where children can build and strengthen positive relationships.

Youth Education volunteers/interns assist in developing youth’s STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) learning and life skills, and provide resources to enhance youth's community involvement and college/career readiness. Youth Education volunteers/interns should be available in the afterschool hours and have access to transportation.

Description
Volunteers provide reading tutoring for first, second, and third graders to help them feel confident, pass their exams, and set them up for future success. This opportunity takes place within elementary schools throughout San Antonio and requires access to transportation.
